Louis Yengst immigrated to the United States from Germany
in 1873. He was employed by the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe
Railroad as an engineer on August 22, 1888 and was domiciled
in Emporia, Kansas. He moved to Argentine, Kansas in 1908
and moved to Winfield Kansas in 1930.

In 1910 Charles Ervin from Cutler, Illinois roomed with
Louis and Nannie Yengst. Charles was the nephew of Nannie
and also my Grand Uncle. He was employed by the
Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad as a fireman in 1909 and
qualified as an engineer on August 28th, 1918.
Charles Ervin retired from Santa Fe in March 1963.
