Argentine, Kansas from 1883 to 1938.

David G Bliss was born in Bradford Pennsylvania,
November 29th, 1840.  

Mr. Bliss owned and operated one of the first dry goods stores
in Argentine at 22nd and Metropolitan Avenue.
At the time of his visit to the Engel's residence in 1884 he
was also the mayor of Argentine, only the second person to
serve as mayor. After his tenure as mayor he also served as
the City Treasurer for a number of years.

Mary O Bliss in 1890, was the first Matron for
Tirzah Chapter #85 O.E.S and a member of the
Hawthorne Club.

D G Bliss died, February 23rd, 1893 and is buried in
Oak Grove Cemetery in Argentine, Kansas.
