Argentine, Kansas
J. B. & Louise Marshel came from Louisville, Kentucky
to Argentine, Kansas in 1882. He was the chief clerk for
the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe railroad offices.
He was a charter member of the Ben Hur Lodge #322
A.F. & A.M. and a member of Ivanhoe Commandry #21
Knights Templar. Louise, his wife was an active member of
the Congregational Church. She was the second matron in
1902 of
Tirzah #85 Chapter O.E.S.  and Grand Organist
in 1908, the year Mary (May) Crawford was
Grand Matron of Kansas.

J B Marshel became the commercial agent for the
Chicago Milwaukee & St Paul railroad,
Southwest division in Dallas, Texas.
He died February, 1914 in Houston, Texas
